With a Little Help from our Friends...

April 30, 2020

This past winter of 2020 the Friends of the Helen Avalynne Tawes Garden recognized the need to refresh the three Tawes Garden directional signs as well as the Taylor Avenue entrance sign.  The original manufacturer of the signs, a well-known Annapolis sign maker, was contracted to perform the work.

The Tawes Garden Advisory Board, the forerunner to the Friends of Helen Avalynne Tawes Garden, Inc., originally funded the signs in the early 80's.  This is the second refurbishing since the original installation.  This time the Friends Board elected to use vinyl posts on the Taylor Avenue sign to lower future maintenance costs.

The Tawes Garden staff thanks the Friends for their continuing involvement with the Garden and their commitment to aiding its mission as a public facility to promote, to educate, and to encourage the preservation of native and cultivated gardens for the benefit of all.
